Good afternoon,

Pier Drive – As reported in an eblast earlier this week, Helm completed the bridge renovation and Pier Drive behind the dam was reopened. Thanks for your patience as I understand this created a slight inconvenience. It is however a project that our Lake Planning Committee has been planning for the past several years. This work will extend the life of the bridge, and I’d like to thank the Lake Planning Committee for their efforts to make sure our infrastructure receives the attention it needs.

Culvert Replacements – Due to the rain this past week, the schedule for the culvert replacements had to be adjusted. After today, only two more culverts need to be replaced as this project comes to a close. Below is the schedule of road closures and the finishing work for this coming week.

Monday, 10/5 Orleans Drive will be closed as the culvert spanning the road between 409 & 385 will be replaced. This is a one-day job, and you can avoid the area by taking Lake Summerset Rd. to Lockwood or Corkhill.

Tuesday, 10/6 & Wednesday, 10/7 Lake Summerset Rd. will be closed while the culvert spanning the road between lot 2266 and Tamarack Park is replaced. This is a two-day job. For those who live on Lake Summerset Rd. west of Tamarack Park, please enter via the west gate.

Thursday, 10/8 & Friday 10/9 Paving work will take place to repair the roads where the culverts were replaced. No road closures are scheduled.

If weather causes a delay in the construction, an eblast will be sent advising you of the changes.

Have Something you’d like the Board to consider? – At the September 14, 2026 Board meeting, our board president, Karen Franzen invited Members who had a concern, a question, or an idea to actually have the item added to the agenda. While members are welcome to ask questions or make comments at the meeting, the Board may not have an answer to your questions because they’re most likely hearing it for the first time. Members will certainly always have the opportunity to make a comment at a meeting but if you’d like the Board to discuss the matter and make a decision, the item needs to be added to the agenda in advance of the meeting. Below is the form we use for Members to request an item to be added to the agenda. The form, and any related background information should be submitted to me prior to 11:00am on the Wednesday prior to the Monday evening Board meeting. By having your matter added to the agenda, the Board will be able to give it the time and discussion it deserves.

Hoping all have an enjoyable and safe weekend.

Mike
