Support Team Lois in the READy Set Go! Fundraiser
Watermark Publishing has teamed up with Read To Me International, a Hawaii-based non-profit organization whose mission is to share the love and joy of reading aloud, to support its READy, Set, Go! virtual fundraising campaign. Eleven people, including our own author-illustrator Lois Kim are featured in a fundraising bragging-rights competition to promote the importance of reading aloud to children. Each team leader has created a storytelling video. Watch Lois's Mommy Loves You read aloud video, share it and please join Team Lois in contributing to Read To Me International’s parent-coaching programs.

The competition runs September 1 - 10, and our team has a goal of raising $1,000. An anonymous donor will match up to $1,000 on our team campaign, which means if we each meet our goal of raising $1,000, we will have raised $2,000 to benefit Read To Me International. Your donation is tax-deductible and you will receive a tax receipt via email.

Mahalo to event sponsors DataHouse and First Hawaiian Bank, and thank YOU for your support!
Purchase Lois Kim's books between September 1 and 7, and Watermark Publishing will donate 10% of the sale to Team Lois's READY, Set, Go! campaign.
Make a purchase of either - or both! - of Lois's books, Mommy Loves You or My Best Friend, via our website between now and September 7, and we'll make a donation to her team's earnings.
SEPTEMBER NEW RELEASE
Mindfulness with Aloha Breath by Thao Le, PhD, MPH
Oh, no! Too many malasadas make Stomach hurt! But who is to blame? Is it Hands, who put them there? Or Eyes, who saw them? Or is it Brain, who gives orders? Bear Awareness, Dino, Hippo and the Body Parts teach children about using breath to connect with ALOHA as a mindfulness practice. These values allow us to relate wholesomely with ourselves and others, leading to understanding rather than blame. Bear Awareness invites us to remember and cultivate each ALOHA value with every in-and-out breath. Written by Thao “Kale‘a” Le, PhD, MPH, a professor in Human Development and Family Studies, Mindfulness with Aloha Breath incorporates Aunty Pilahi Paki’s meaning of aloha as designated in the “Aloha Spirit Law” (HRS [§5-7.5]) and basic concepts of neurological and biological function in a simple, expressive lesson for children.
