Life is sacred

by Satish Kumar, Issue 348, January/February 2025

Satish Kumar says there is no matter without spirit and no spirit without matter and it is this divine entanglement

over 50 years.

In his early twenties, Satish was inspired by the British peace activist Bertrand Russell, who was arrested aged 89 at an anti-nuclear demonstration. This prompted Satish’s peace pilgrimage from India to Moscow, London, Paris and America. Walking with no money and depending on the kindness and hospitality of strangers, Satish delivered a humble packet of ‘peace tea’ to the leaders of the four capitals of

the nuclear world.

How the moon was created

A story told by Peter Chand

Peter is an international storyteller who has enthralled audiences both near and far with his skilful narration, specialising in traditional tales from his Indian background.
