HELLO EVERYONE!
2024!

Hopefully Everyone had a healthy, safe and prosperous Christmas and New Year Celebration. Time for us to get back to the line as the Winter Shooting Season at the Silver Dollar and other Clubs around our State have begun. You can find the dates and locations on the FTA web site.
The Program for the 2024 FTA Hall of Fame Shoot has been added to the FTA Web Site as well as the Silver Dollar Web Site for your viewing pleasure. Our 2024 inductee is Kay Ohye. It is our hopes you will attend and help us Celebrate one of Trapshooting all-time greats induction.  For Dinner reservations please contact Diane at the Silver Dollar front desk.

 Upcoming deadlines:

1.    Deadline for submission of suggested changes to our Association By-Laws is 19 January 2024. Suggested changes received after this date will NOT be considered until the following Year. (Page 16, Article XXIV, Section 2. Deadline.)

2.    For those of you working on Sponsorships, please have all art work to the FTA Secretary NLT 9 February 2024. Our deadline to the printer is 12 February. Art work received after this date will be posted on the FTA Website.

3.    Deadline for nomination of FTA Officers and Directors is 5 March 2024. Nominations received after this date will NOT be considered. Please insure the person being nominated has agreed to hold the position.  Nominations for Delegate and Alternates will be held on Friday, 22 March 2024 after the conclusion of the day’s events. (Article XIII, Elections, Section 2,).

We have received a flat of shells from Jacksonville Clay Target Sport, Palatka Skeet and Trap, NAS-Jax Skeet and Trap, Markum Skeet and Trap as well as Flagler Gun and Archery Club. We need an additional flat to finish out our Six Day Shell Raffle. Please contact me if you would like to donate.

Work is underway on our State Shoot Program. We are going to add a “yardage group” Lewis to all handicap events. This will allow shooters to compete against only those in their yardage group. Example: (19-20), (21-22), (23-24), (25-26), (27). Check the program when its published as this may change.

There will be no “Preliminary” events in our State Shoot Program. ALL Program Targets will count toward HOA, HAA totals. My goal is to have the Program published and posted by7 February 2024 or sooner.

Our By-Laws are posted on our web site. I would like to encourage everyone to take a few minutes and look them over. To quote an unknown,” Everyone knows what’s in the rule book, but no one reads it.”

Former President and Southern Zone Director, Joe Loitz has volunteered to serve as Election Committee Supervisor for this year’s Elections. If you would like to assist Joe in this task, please contact him.

The AIM Championships will run concurrently with our Championships 23 and 24 March. For more information contact Bruce Formhals, Florida Aim Director.
