We're kicking off our ballot initiative spotlight series with Proposition 2, the school facilities bond measure. 

This $10 billion bond measure is aimed at funding repairs and upgrades for thousands of K-12 school and community college buildings across California. Under this plan, K-12 schools will receive $8.5 billion, while $1.5 billion will be allocated to community colleges. This measure would encourage much needed development in California and enhance our state's economic competitiveness.

Governor Newsom has released an executive order on adaptive reuse/office conversion in an effort to lower costs and encourage the production of more affordable infill housing.

The commercial real estate industry supports adaptive reuse efforts when they make sense as a means to obtain the best value and use of property. Our industry is leading an adaptive reuse workgroup which will be reviewing the executive order. Our industry is supporting adaptive reuse bills currently in the legislative process, which are featured on the top ten bill list.
