Reminders: County Waste Reduction Survey, Safe Streets Public Meeting and Adopt-A-Spot

County Waste Reduction Survey and Public Meeting

From Westchester County: Westchester County’s Department of Environmental Facilities (DEF) is working with Barton & Logiudice, a consulting firm, on a Waste Reduction Study that will serve as a guide for reducing waste generation and disposal throughout the next decade and beyond.

The study is seeking input from residents throughout the County to gather their opinions on current County waste programs and to learn about where they would like to see resources focused going forward. Barton & Loguidice comes to this project with extensive experience in developing waste reduction plans and strategies, working with municipalities throughout New York State and the nation. The Waste Reduction Study was made possible by a Board of Legislators initiative added to the 2024 Refuse Disposal District budget.

Westchester County’s Department of Environmental Facilities (DEF) will host a public meeting on waste reduction on Wednesday, March. 12, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the County Center in White Plains. The meeting will provide residents with an opportunity to share thoughts and comments as DEF works with consulting firm Barton & Loguidice on a Waste Reduction Study. The study will serve as a guide for reducing waste generation and disposal over the next decade and beyond.

At the meeting, DEF and Barton & Loguidice will outline the study’s goals, and attendees will have up to two minutes each to provide input.

As the meeting is limited to one and a half hours, those wishing to speak are strongly encouraged to pre-register at https://form.jotform.com/250545680113148.

For those who would like to provide their input but are unable to attend, they will have an opportunity to submit written comments after the meeting through Wednesday, March 19 at 5 p.m. at https://form.jotform.com/250485123882156.
