Let's play mbira! It's been a long year+ of pandemic, so one focus of this first MBIRA workshop since the pandemic will be playing mbira together. You'll refresh and learn parts as needed and Erica will help you to success playing the interlocking parts together. One beautiful song, because it's so appropriate for the moment, will be Zvichapera (also called Mbirimo), because it means This Too Shall Pass (literally "Everything Has An End!"). We'll include a variety of other pieces appropriate for those who attend. All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome, but because we'll be playing together a lot, a minimum of one month playing experience is recommended.
