As we shared yesterday, we are devastated that federal agents have shot and killed another Minnesotan, Alex Pretti, a 37 year-old who served as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital.
And as we wrote Friday with our Catholic and Evangelical partners in an open letter to Minnesota's elected officials, this moment urgently demands responsible leadership to chart an off-ramp from this crisis and prevent it from worsening. Tragically, that message became even more urgent today.
"Operation Metro Surge" must end. Minnesota and the nation deserve fair and transparent investigations into the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good that fully involve state and local officials.
