The Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC), North America’s oldest and largest regional economic development association, representing seventeen states and the world’s third-largest equivalent economy, has announced new appointments to its Committee leadership. Led by member representatives, SEDC Committees are the forums through which Council strategies are crafted and implemented. Appointed by 2026 SEDC Chairman Tim Weston, fourteen seasoned professionals will lead the Council’s Committees, strengthening service to the world’s leading economic development professionals and advancing Team #AmericanSouth opportunity and prosperity. SEDC members serve within networks that have delivered more than $600 billion in capital investment and created 600,000 new American jobs over the last three calendar years. In 2026, as SEDC enters its 80th anniversary year, the Council will strengthen its Committee infrastructure to expand member value and sharpen its focus on accelerating the American South's positioning as the world’s premier investment location.
