This fun and easy class will lay the foundation for you to create beautiful junk journals from scraps! From designing a simple & stunning cover in just minutes to filling it with an assortment of whimsical papers and junk mail, you will be pleased as punch with your results.

You will create, from start to finish in this class, a masterpiece. We will be making a 9”x 6” finished size journal with one signature approx. 8.5” x 5.5’ made of 20 pieces of paper or junk mail, etc. Junk Journals make delightful gifts as well as treasured memory keepers of travels, family events & personal achievements!

Your fee includes a Class Kit that contains materials for creating your cover, 10 signature papers, metal corner protectors, binder clips, and use of sewing machine. I will also provide (but not for you to keep) binding needles, waxed linen, pokey tool.

I’m excited to be able to offer this class and thank Betty and her staff. We’re going to have great fun, which starts with you being able to express yourself! I urge you to reserve (with payment) your seat today, as seating is good, but space is limited. The class fills up quickly.

Card Swap - Next Meeting *Thursday April 3 10:30 AM

A Gathering of card makers once a month on the 2nd Thursday to swap cards and do a make & take card front. Great for meeting new friends and other card makers.

Here are the details:

Every one attending should bring 4 completed cards of the monthly theme (see below).

Each month there will be two or more themes so the cards

for the swap do not have to be identical.

Envelopes are optional.

If you have other cards you would like to swap, that can be done after the make & take.

Make & take will always be just a card front.

You will receive detailed instruction, 9x12 canvas,

sawtooth for hanging, use of stencils, brushes and paint.

Ro Martinez is a self taught artist, she works with acrylics in her favorite black and white palette mixing a rainbow of colors to create a blend of her two styles; Op-Art and Abstract design. She hopes to bring joy with her inspirational pieces.

In 1980 she painted two massive murals in NY then left to pursue acting and modeling. After a successful 30+ year career, she returned to her love of art in 2017.

Ro has had 4 solo shows, she is currently in 3 galleries.

She has also styled and published over 100 articles in 5 publications on the subject of fashion, health and benefits of art on the mind and body.
