Working to reduce plastic use in Missouri

"The Great Rivers State"

Stream Teams United is embarking on a new effort to work with partners around the state and with Missourians to reduce our use of plastic!

Join us in this effort. You can be a part of the plastic pollution solution!

We will be sending a monthly news blast, with the most recent news about the problem of plastic in our environment, with tangible steps anyone can take to help curb our use of plastic!

Here's our October Plastic Awareness news!

How can YOU reduce your personal use of plastic?

  1. Clean with baking soda and vinegar or homemade cleaners instead of cleaners packaged in plastic.
  2. Buy powdered laundry detergent in boxes rather than liquid detergents in plastic containers, or make your own detergent.
  3. Skip the plastic containers, and package food leftovers in glass, metal, or ceramic dishes.
  4. Bring your own containers to restaurants to package leftovers.
  5. Swap disposable paper napkins with reusable cloth napkins. They feel nice and reduce overall waste, which reduces the use of plastic bags!
