Children's Ministries Update

Hello Families!

Quotes heard from children last week:

When a young girl in the nursery was shown the Lincoln Logs, she placed her hand on her heart and said, "oh, I have a puzzle in my heart!"

In the art room on Wednesday Night, kids were sharing what they were giving up for Lent. One 4th grader shared that she and her dad had been talking about adding in something for Lent. "We decided to read the Bible each night together and we started with Matthew. It was a whole lot of who was who's father!"

Sometimes, we use a wooden circle with different colors of ribbon representing different skin tones. Each child holds one of the ribbons and we pray for all the people of the world. Kids added these prayers - "for those that are hungry, for those that are thirsty and need clean water, for people that are lonely, for people that don't have a house, for everybody no matter what color their skin is or what they believe."

These kids know how to talk to God! They want to talk to God. Help them to set aside time to draw close to God through prayer.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you that you are a generous God

and that you give us so many good things.

We are sorry that we are not always generous with others.

Please help us this week to be kind,

to do our very best,

and to be generous when we are helping others.

We want to be intentional about sharing our faith with our children and don't always know how. We can come along beside each other with the Holy Spirit for support and empathy and ideas.

Pajama Sunday!

9:00 am, March 12

This will be spring-forward Sunday, so if you forget and sleep in a bit - no worries! Just come in your PJ's! You can also bring a lovey with you too. Ms. Kimmell and I will be decked out and we are issuing you a challenge to join us!

Did you know that every child that shops at Threads get’s PJ’s as well as regular clothes? With that said please consider donating pajamas to Threads and bring to church with you on Pajama Sunday. All sizes welcome for boys and girls.

MAC Lent Food Drive

February 26-April 2

The Children's Ministries will be having a competition to see who can bring in the most canned goods for the MAC Lent Food Drive. So look for those BOGO deals as you shop and get a collection bag from church starting on Feb. 26th. Have your child bring their cans in on Sundays and we will weigh them and count them for their class. I will be sending out a Sign Up Genius for kids to pick a Sunday to hand out bags at 9:00 or 11:15 service. At the end of the collection, Club 45 will be carrying over all the collections and organizing them on the shelfs for MAC as their Faith in Action project for April.
