AHEPA Senior Living Breaks Ground on Second South Bend Community

AHEPA Senior Living held a groundbreaking ceremony for AHEPA 100 Phase II Apartments in South Bend, Ind., Oct. 10, 2024, announced ASL President and CEO Steve Beck.

AHEPA 100 II Apartments will be a three-story, 72-unit HUD-assisted affordable senior living community located on 3.86 acres. AHEPA Senior Living closed on the $20.45 million deal on October 8, 2024.

Successful Annual Meeting Held

AHEPA Senior Living held elections for board of directors’ officers and announced grant distributions totaling $500,000 at its annual meeting, July 10 and 11, 2024, in Nashville, Tenn. Attorney Ike Gulas, Birmingham, Ala., earned a second term as board chairman.

Hellenic Senior Living Welcomes Indiana State Senator

We were thrilled to welcome Indiana State Senator Gary Byrne to Hellenic Senior Living of New Albany on September 19.

AHEPA Senior Living President and CEO Steve Beck, Hellenic Senior Living of New Albany Executive Director Tammy S. Evans, and Director of Marketing Shauna Griffin greeted State Sen. Byrne and guided him on a tour of the community.

Byrne also had the opportunity to meet and greet residents, who were able to share their stories about living an affordable assisted living lifestyle. Afterwards, residents discussed how Indiana’s Medicaid assisted living waiver waitlist issue is impacting their timely access to care with him. Byrne expressed strong interest in the matter and stated a willingness to discuss with his colleagues in Indianapolis, especially those who sit on the state’s Medicaid Oversight Committee. The residents also expressed gratitude to our New Albany team for taking them in without a payer source.
