Scripture Readings for November 8, 2026

Today the prophet Amos calls for justice to roll down like waters. Paul urges us to encourage one another with the promised coming of the Lord. Jesus tells the parable of the wise and foolish bridesmaids. Surrounded by the faithful of every time and place, we celebrate Christ’s coming in our midst in the word of life and the feast of victory—the marriage feast of the Lamb.

Amos 5:18-24; Psalm 70; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 25:1-13

Grace and peace be to you!

Welcome to the newest members of Hutto Lutheran!

Cass Cavitt, Dorothy Ebert, Janet Halter, Kary Held, Brian Kerls and Lori Murphy, and Andrew Dell'Antonio.

Giving thanks for all the many ways you have shined Christ's light these past weeks.

God’s peace,

Pastor Amanda

Advent Wreath Lighting

The advent wreath is a physical reminder of the light shining in the darkness as we wait for the coming of Jesus. The season of Advent starts the first Sunday of December. Each Sunday in advent the wreath is lit at the start of the worship service. A script is read as the candles are lit. Would you and/or your family like to light the advent wreath in worship?

Contact Rodney Westphal or sign up using the Sign-Up Genius here.

Christmas Poinsettias

This holiday season the church is purchasing 30 poinsettias from Down Home Ranch and would like to offer church members an opportunity to obtain a Poinsettia in honor of, or in memory of a loved one. The Poinsettias will be displayed along the altar during the Advent season. An insert with your name and those of whom you wish to honor or remember will be included in the Christmas Eve service bulletin.

All orders need to be placed and paid for by Sunday, December 13th, 2026.

The Jamie Project

Help Us Stock The Jamie Project for the season! 💛

• Twin-size and baby mattress protectors

• Diapers of all sizes
