The Deal

Genuine Cable Group (“GCG”), a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity (“Audax”), has completed the acquisition of Paige Electric. The acquisition expands GCG’s facility footprint, end market access and design and engineering capabilities. This represents GCG’s sixth acquisition under Audax ownership.

The Thesis

Audax formed Genuine Cable Group in September 2019 through the carveout of a collection of distribution assets from Genuine Parts Company (NYSE: GPC) with the vision of creating a national distributor of wire & cable and automation products with differentiated value-add capabilities and a premium product portfolio. Since then, GCG has focused on driving growth within its three core segments: communications, industrial, and automation. Audax will continue to work with the GCG management team to drive further organic growth and accelerate its acquisition strategy to expand its distribution footprint, customer base, and portfolio of products and value-add service offerings.
