A Year of Change

It's now been a year since we laid Thomas R. Ruthman to rest. Even in his later years, he was a near-daily presence at Ruthman HQ. It has not been the same without him.

His legacy lives on, however. His portrait now graces our lobby, along with that of his father, Alois Ruthman. We hope as he watches over us, he sees that we endeavor to keep the lessons that he taught, to value the quality of our work and place service to our customers above all else, at the core of everything we do.

Engineering Story: Gusher Molten Metal Pumps

Gusher has the experience to handle extreme temps

In applications where pure metal or alloys such as babbit and spelter are pumped, there are a number of design considerations. Pumps not engineered to withstand the intense heat of these environments can break down, causing process interruption and risking the potential for severe damage or personnel injury in the event of a leak or rupture.

Amanda Clifton Moves to National Sales

Role with Ruthman Companies

Longtime Gusher Inside Sales Rep brings her pump expertise to all Ruthman Brands

The newest member of the Ruthman Companies National Sales Team is one many of our customers will already be familiar with: Gusher Pumps’ Inside Sales Representative Amanda Clifton. Amanda will now bring her excellent customer service skills and deep pump expertise to the role of Regional Sales Manager, Central States, for all the Ruthman manufacturing brands.

Amanda brings a unique perspective to her new role. While she has been at Gusher nearly 15 years in total, she broke that time up with a three-year stint in inside sales at Gusher distributor OTC Industrial Technologies. With this experience, she gained firsthand knowledge of the needs of our distributors and their customers. This insight, coupled with her understanding of Gusher and other Ruthman manufacturing brands, will serve her customers well.

After starting in order entry at Gusher, Amanda quickly moved into inside sales. In addition to fielding customer inquiries, quoting pumps and training other inside sales representatives, she also took on a number of additional projects within Gusher. She is the company’s ISO coordinator and was an integral part of the team implementing the company’s new ERP system.

Amanda has already started attending tradeshows and visiting customers in her territory and is looking forward to meeting more of her customers in the new year.

The move to better-equipped facilities puts Nagle in close proximity to sister Ruthman company Gusher Pumps to more efficiently share manufacturing resources. With this move, Nagle is poised to continue its growth, particularly in the area of manufacturing pumps for molten salt applications driven by the rise in alternative energy development.

PSI Issues New Literature

Updated brochures highlight key benefits of Vertical Turbine Pumps

Process Systems has recently released updates to product literature for both its Process Systems and Deming lines of vertical turbine pumps.

The new brochures are currently available for download at PSI4Pumps.com and will be mailed to distributors in early 2024.

Giving Back

We are proud to support the communities where we live and work

Spearheaded by Gusher Inside Sales Rep Alice Ingram, Gusher employees donated over 60 stuffed animals to the local elementary school's Reading Buddy program. The program encourages literacy by giving young readers a fuzzy friend to read with.

Additionally, Alice orchestrated a drive to collect socks and underwear for children in need at the school.

Process Systems sponsored the 3rd Annual Battle of the Badges Softball tournament. The event featured teams from local police and fire departments battling it out for bragging rights while raising money for a good cause.

Sponsorships, raffles and event ticket sales raised funds to support local first rresponder initiatives.
