Our mission to make St. Louis a welcoming community is a shared effort. It’s the collective commitment of individuals, organizations, businesses, elected officials, donors, and friends that makes immigrants and refugees feel at home. The entire International Institute team is deeply grateful for your unwavering support.
In 2024, we welcomed nearly 3,000 new arrivals, a record for this century. We’re honored to assist newcomers seeking safety and a fresh start. The needs of those in our region continue—even though the incoming administration signaling a reduction in immigration and refugee admissions. During the global refugee crisis, your support of the International Institute's work is more vital than ever.
Welcoming is an intentional and ongoing action. Beyond initial arrivals, our holistic services empower immigrant families to thrive, ensuring access to resources that promote self-sufficiency and dignity. Immigrants have always enriched our community as business owners, professionals, neighbors, and friends, and their contributions remain essential.
Founded in 1919, the International Institute has weathered political and economic changes, staying true to our values. Together, we’ll continue to stand strong and support those seeking a better life.
