Welcoming Wyoming to AIM!

We’re thrilled to welcome Wyoming to the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM), who recently became the 50th state to join the national AIM initiative!

AIM began in 2014 with just six states and, with the addition of Wyoming as of September 2026, we’re proud to say that
AIM is now in all 50 states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico!

While Wyoming recently added AIM to their maternal health portfolio, they have been implementing patient safety bundles since 2024 and just hosted their first annual Wyoming Maternal Health Summit this past month, focused on closing care gaps in maternal health and fostering innovation within the state. Wyoming is implementing the AIM Obstetric Hemorrhage and Perinatal Substance Use Disorder Patient Safety Bundles.

Wyoming's AIM participation is a joint effort between the University of Wyoming Rural Health Institute and the Wyoming Hospital Association (WHA), with WHA acting as a key implementation partner working directly with birthing hospitals across the state.

In a joint statement, the two organizations said,

“Every Wyoming family deserves safe, high-quality care during pregnancy, birth, and the months that follow, no matter how far they live from a hospital.

At the University of Wyoming Rural Health Institute and the Wyoming Hospital Association, we are proud to bring AIM’s proven patient safety bundles to our state. We are building this effort alongside our birthing hospitals, so the tools fit the realities of rural and frontier care. Joining AIM connects Wyoming to a national network of partners and lessons learned and we look forward to working together to improve outcomes for mothers and babies across the state.”

Welcome to AIM, Wyoming!
