Model Post
Food is too important to trust it only to profit-driven corporations that are increasingly unregulated. They’re promoting laws that prevent monitoring and enforcement for safety, quality and humane treatment of animals.
Food is everyone’s business, but big ag. corporations are trying to control every aspect of our food – from production to distribution to retail. NOW is the time to push back. #WILPFus #NotInOurNames #UNFSS2021 #WhyHunger #ViaCampesina

Why challenge this summit?
Our Allies at the Food Sovereignty Alliance contend that the agenda for the summit has been shaped entirely by the Big Ag. corporations trying to control our food. Big Ag. presents the false premise that petro-chemicals and GMO-modified seeds (terminator seeds that are designed to reject natural regeneration) are the only way to ‘feed the world’.
Small family farmers, organic farmers, sustainable agriculture proponents, environmentalists and farmworkers had no input into the meeting. They are being excluded and silenced! This kind of “corporate capture” is happening in other parts of the UN as well. We need to insist that money and profiteering has no place in the people’s business.
