As the world as we have known it has been knocked off its axis for the time being, we
hope this email finds you and your family, friends, colleagues and employees healthy and focused on being ready to rebound stronger. As always, and especially during this unnerving, tumultuous time, we wish you inner peace and strength, the resilience of spirit and the clarity needed to move forward.
While continuing to serve as
an essential advisor
to our business and nonprofit clients, guiding them to find and harness their opportunities born from crisis and navigate through this unchartered watershed,
we are now expanding our Covid-19-related Rebound PR counsel and communications services
to new clients
on an “as needed” and menu basis.
This offers the opportunity to help other small and medium-size organizations that need to assess and plan their next steps. We had already planned this pivot in our business model before the pandemic, and pleased to be in a strong position to now provide it when it is most needed.
Since giving back has always been at the core of our business and personal DNA
, KCOM-PR will be donating 10% of all new client services fees to nonprofits and food banks providing meals and necessities to the most vulnerable…children and families struggling through the aftershocks of this health and financial crisis.

Business, Community and Personal Life as We Know it has Drastically Changed, Some Aspects Forever…
BE ASSURED, GREAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE BORN FROM CRISIS
if you know how to find and harness them
History will show that it is
how business and nonprofit brands assess, plan, engage and communicate through this unprecedented time of uncertainty
that will determine which brands will rebound robustly and dominate.
Through the transition and on the other end of this
none-like-it
disruption, many brands will look very different, offer new or eliminate services,
and some may be forced to totally reinvent themselves
to remain market-relevant.
Brand resilience and loyalty
won't be achieved by what a brand
says
, but rather how it
acts
...
meaning
the integrity, authenticity, relevance, clarity and most of all, its sense of humanity
it puts forth during a dark time for so many.

ONE THING FOR SURE: OLD WAYS WON'T OPEN NEW DOORS
Seeking outside brand guidance is a sign of confident, strong leadership,
not weakness
.
It can be so overwhelming as business restrictions continue to change almost daily, federal legislation and funding programs have their glitches and governors are planning for phased re-opening initiatives. If you -- or even a client, colleague or nonprofit you know -- are stymied about what to do next to support your or their brand through this disruption and re-entry,
we at KCOM-PR can help
as p
aradigm shifts are not new to us.
For more than 23 years, we have helped leaders, companies in a variety of industries, and nonprofits navigate
the difficult changes and pivots in their marketplaces, including
reputation repair,
9/11, the real estate bubble crisis, high-profile federal and company litigation, hostile takeovers, new ownership/management transitions, staff protests, government approvals, prep and recovery from hurricanes
... and e
ven snowstorms
.
Our clients
--ranging from hospital companies and healthcare, hotels and resorts, country club communities, luxury and commercial real estate, entertainment and retail centers, destinations like Downtown Boca to large scale sports events and charities --
have found that our candid outside perspective has been essential.
We have helped them eliminate costly internal tunnel vision, infuse innovative ideas and immediately add new and vetted resources and relationships to their rebound planning
.
By candidly telling clients
what they
need
to hear
, not just
what they
want
to hear
, they are well-positioned to grow and dominate through ups and downs and in between.

To prevail in this disruptive environment
we can guide you through the following phases
While we at KCOM-PR are well-known for our community, media and influencer relations, it is our behind-the-scenes creative thought leadership and Seriously Strategic! guidance, planning and execution that are at the core of all we do for businesses and nonprofits.
We serve as a confidential sounding board for decision-makers providing them with counsel and strategies for pivots in services, products and relationship-building for now and long-term focusing on the following areas.
Resuscitation:
While we are in the "aftershock" phase of this economic crisis
with more rumblings to come,
keeping your team engaged and impassioned is paramount. You will need them and they will need your leadership clarity on the other side of this. Keeping your staff, customers, vendors, recommenders, influencers, sponsors and donors informed is critical. You need to let all of them know they
are "essential" to you and valued.
Review for Re-Entry
Take a hard look at current brand features, advantages and benefits to identify which will generate the most revenue and audience interest now as you prep for re-entry. Your "now" may need to look different than at "re-entry" and beyond. It is an ideal time to take a hard look at your online hygiene, as 90% of cyber breaches are due to human error or lack of familiarity of newly embraced communications platforms, such as ZOOM meetings, Instagram, etc.
Re-thinking
Leadership needs to determine which services and products will be relevant when the organization is up and running. Is
there clarity to your brand and its promise?
Do you need to add new communications channels, and if so which ones? Would adding new alliances and partnerships help further your brand integrity and reach? Have you identified ALL audiences that would find your brand of value NOW and in the future?
Re-imagination
Don't forget it is the needs of your customers/clients/donors that should help determine your path. It's not just about the inventory or services your are offering or going back to your past schedule of long-standing fundraisers and awards events. Perhaps there are newer, better ways in which to deliver your products and services.
Maybe you should consider infusing diversification, offering incentive programs, hosting Zoom events, etc.
Do your donors now want lavish or direct-to-mission fundraisers?
Re-invention
If your brand was already losing market traction before the pandemic, this may be your opportunity to reinvent. To effectively do this, you will need to "Go Big", not push out drip-by-drip. Are you prepared for this?
Re-structure, Re-purpose, Re-direction
Now is the time to make bold and non-traditional decisions. Maybe working remotely is a better way to operate than bricks and mortar offices. Perhaps you need to add another division, service or product and eliminate others. Effective communications both internally and externally, will be critical throughout these transitions and transformations.
