Connect Study Seeks to Improve Men's Participation in Research
The Connect for Cancer Prevention Study seeks to understand the causes of cancer and how to prevent it. So far, the study has enrolled 92,000 participants across the U.S., but only about one-third are men, and that could limit what the study learns about cancers affecting men. A recent study sought to learn how to better engage men in research.
In January 2026, CHR saw its first participant for the BEETHOVEN Study, a new clinical trial sponsored by Pfizer. The study is led by Distinguished Investigator Richard Mularski, MD, and will test a vaccine to protect against Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infection among people age 65 and older.
CHR Recognized for Cancer Prevention Work with Tribal Leaders
In 2025, a CHR team was recognized by the American College of Gastroenterology for outstanding work with American Indian tribal leaders in colorectal cancer prevention.
COVID Vaccines Protect Children and Teens, Study Shows
In December 2025, CHR Collaborative Scientist Stephanie Irving, MHS and colleagues reported the results of a study of COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness in U.S. children for the 2024-2025 season. Children and teens who got the vaccine had a reduced risk of COVID-related emergency and urgent care visits compared with those who did not.
Each year, scientists at CHR publish approximately 200 articles in a wide variety of journals. Here, you'll find our most recent publications and findings.
