Dig Pink Volleyball Game!

Holy Names continued a cherished community tradition with this year’s Dig Pink Volleyball Game, organized by seniors Tara Brady, Payton Good, and Gianna Lorusso. A part of the Holy Names community for more than 15 years, the event has recently transitioned to student leadership, giving seniors the opportunity to carry on this meaningful tradition as part of their senior service projects. During the school day, the students sold shoe laces and hair tinsel as part of their fundraiser.

The JV and Varsity Volleyball teams faced the Hudson Falls Tigers in a spirited matchup. While our Panthers ultimately fell short, they battled hard. The evening was filled with Panther Pride and community support, with raffles and an opportunity to connect with a volunteer from To Life! Attendees learned about the importance of early detection and cancer screenings, as well as how To Life! supports individuals affected by breast cancer throughout New York’s Capital Region and beyond.

Thank you to Tara, Payton, and Gianna for their leadership, and to everyone who came out to support this important cause!

Alumnae Reunion Weekend

Alumnae Reunion Weekend is always such a special event, honoring our alumnae spanning from the 1950s to the 2020s! It was a joyous weekend, with our student cheer squad and Penny the Panther welcoming everyone to campus and enjoying a luncheon reception catered by Marcesco Foods. Thank you to everyone who celebrated near and far. Our celebrations will continue throughout this year. Stay tuned!

8th Grade Trip to Chingachgook

The 8th grade went to Camp Chingachgook on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd for a day of team building activities. The girls enjoyed canoeing, archery, and rock wall climbing. It was a great day, beautiful weather, a picnic lunch by the lake, and comradery.

Holy Names Receives Grant Funding from Rev. Kenneth J. Doyle Catholic Education Fund, Inc.

Fifteen Catholic Schools from across the Capital Region gathered on Wednesday, September 30 at St. Mary's, Crescent Parish in Waterford, to receive grant funding from the Rev. Kenneth J. Doyle Catholic Education Fund, Inc. This is the second year that Academy of the Holy Names has benefited from funding which has helped to support transportation costs for the Campus-Wide Day of Service.

Remembering Sister Joyce M. Houle

Sister Joyce M. Houle, S.N.J.M., who for 71 years served as a dedicated member of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, passed away on September 29, 2026.
