STAFF SPEAKING

Here is a note from the Projects Coordinator, Barbara Otter:

"On National Tree Day, we were very pleased to announce CN's continued funding commitment for three more years to provide businesses with opportunity to become more energy efficient, improve local air quality, increase recycling, and reduce waste.  The Prince George Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the University of Northern British Columbia, engages businesses and students in a unique learning opportunity. Voluntary businesses provide UNBC's Carbon Management class with "live" data (utility bills, employee commute data, etc.) and these students provide the businesses with FREE carbon footprint analyses.

In order to celebrate this amazing opportunity, we dedicated a newly planted pine tree and bench at Duchess Community Park during a ceremony which welcomed guests from the Chamber, City of Prince George, CN, Prince George Air Quality Advisory, and UNBC.  Please visit both of these new features at the recently developed local park.

This is an amazing initiative that benefits students, business and the local community.  Please contact me should you wish to be involved, as spots are filling barbara.otter@pgchamber.bc.ca".
