Florida Laws Effective January 1, 2025

Fiduciary Law Update (HB 1093) The Florida Uniform Fiduciary Income and Principal Act modernizes trust and estate management, allowing for the conversion of certain trusts and providing flexibility for estate planning.

Protection From Financial Exploitation (SB 556) Financial institutions can delay suspicious transactions involving older adults or vulnerable individuals to investigate potential exploitation 

Threatening First Responders (SB 184) Interfering with or threatening first responders becomes a second degree misdemeanor, aimed at enhancing protections for emergency 

personnel

Dental Insurance Protections (SB 892) Restricts insurers from imposing certain fees and denies claims for pre-authorized procedures without proper cause

* Active Members - To be an Active Member you must be in good standing. Active members may vote, participate in debates, hold office and serve as a delegate to National, State Conventions or Conferences. Active membership includes membership in the National Federation of Republican Women and in the Florida Federation of Republican Women. Level is recognized in monthly newsletter, directory and monthly meeting media. $25 of each membership paid goes to FFRW and NFRW for membership dues. The balance of each level above remains with the club to support its programs and operating budget.

** Associate Members - To be an Associate Member, you must be in good standing - that includes your membership in another Federated Club. Associate members may not vote, hold office, or serve as a delegate or alternate for SRWCF to National, State Conferences or Conventions. Men are welcome to join as Associate Members.

SRWCF Meeting Dates for 2025

Please sign up by the Friday before the meeting as Heathrow needs a meal count. There will be an extra $5.00 charge if you register after Friday. Member meals are $32 and Non-Member meals are $42 plus any applicable registration fee.
