This Sunday's Special Collection: Northstar Youth Outreach Center

The Northstar Youth Center, a collaborative effort of WBUUC and the Harriet Tubman Center, has provided support services to homeless youth since 2016. After relocating in June to a larger facility near Maplewood Mall, Northstar now provides increased services such as showers, childcare, and a food pantry in partnership with the White Bear Food Shelf. Our financial support, donated supplies, and volunteering all continue to be greatly needed, and are much appreciated.

In addition to the collection basket on Sunday, you can donate in three other ways:

• Online: http://bit.ly/give-to-wbuuc - indicate NORTHSTAR

• Send a check to WBUUC with NORTHSTAR on the memo line.

• Text to Give by text to 651-615-5551 the “amount NORTHSTAR" (ex, to give $20, text: 20 NORTHSTAR)

Join the WBUUC AI Guidelines Team

As AI tools become more common, WBUUC is forming an AI Guidelines Team to establish healthy, ethical usage practices that align with our UU values. This team will help us balance technological efficiency with our commitment to human connection, deep privacy, and authentic worship. If you have a background in technology, ethics, or communications—or simply a strong interest in how our spiritual community navigates this landscape—we need your voice. To express interest in serving on this team (or to learn more), please contact Rev. Jack or Rack

Vote on the Proposed Amendment to the Minnesota State Constitution: Not voting counts as a “no” vote.

MN Permanent School Fund

Passage of this amendment will NOT increase your taxes. Each year money from the Minnesota Permanent School Fund is sent to school districts to benefit students. This amendment, which has strong bipartisan support, would modernize the distribution formula, resulting in more money going to the schools. Watch the video.

Honoring the USAID Legacy: Empowering the Next Generation of Creators with Orange Spark

Thu. Oct. 29 | 6:30pm | Social Hall | Free

Join us for a presentation and conversation with Shannon Stone and Marunga Manda, two former employees of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which served as the lead international humanitarian and development arm of the U.S. government providing assistance to about 130 countries for 64 years. It was dismantled in 2025 by the current administration. Hear a firsthand perspective on the worldwide impact of losing USAID programming.

Also hear about their new initiative, Orange Spark, which helps young creators ages 18–29 turn their talent into sustainable careers. Key target groups include disadvantaged youth and other underserved populations, including immigrants, refugees, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized populations.

This event is sponsored by WBUUC's Refugee Immigrant Assistance Committee (RIAC)

Pastoral Care Requests, Meeting with Ministers and Building Hours

If you have a pastoral care update or a request for tangible support, please email Rev. Jack directly (revjack@wbuuc.org) or fill out this form: https://bit.ly/wbuucpc

We would be honored to name your joy or sorrow or life event during our Sunday morning meditation so that our community can know about your concern and hold it with you. As the Swedish proverb goes, “Shared joy is double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.”

Meeting with Ministers

Rev. Jessica and Rev. Jack invite you to contact them directly with questions or to make an appointment for an in-person or Zoom meeting. We concentrate most of our appointments Tuesday - Thursday, but we can also make other times available as needed.

Building Hours
