A Day in the Life Video

Here's what day in the life of an unaccompanied youth in our program looks like!

It includes much more than a place to stay. It can mean navigating school, building life skills, working toward goals, connecting with supportive adults, and having a safe place to come home to at the end of the day.

Our new “Day in the Life” video on Facebook offers a glimpse into the experiences of an unaccompanied youth in our program and the support that helps young people move toward greater stability and independence.

Good News is Always Worth Sharing

We have some good news to share with you, and we hope it gives you a glimpse into the incredible things happening at CRITI every day.

One of our graduates recently sent her grades to her case manager: two A’s and a B. She is pursuing a degree in business while raising her children and building the future she wants for her family.

Another graduate recently earned her forklift certification while going to school to become a surgery technician.

One of our current residents celebrated earning her GED, opening new doors for her future.

We also received a beautiful reminder of how meaningful the right support can be when a mother shared how grateful she was for her son’s tutor because she can now understand him better when he talks. What began as tutoring became something even more meaningful: greater communication, less frustration and a stronger connection between mom and her child.

We love celebrating these moments because they show why our work goes far beyond providing a safe place to stay. When women have housing, encouragement, education, practical resources and people who continue walking alongside them, they can accomplish extraordinary things.

You are part of those stories. By supporting our work, you help make it possible for a woman to earn her GED, pursue a career, succeed in college, strengthen her family and keep moving forward long after she leaves our shelter.

We are so proud of our graduates and residents, and we are grateful to everyone who helps them get here. There is so much good happening, and we are glad you are part of it.

Volunteers Needed

We're looking for volunteers to support two important areas of CRITI.

Thrift Store: Volunteers are needed on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays to help with sorting donations, organizing the store and assisting with daily operations. Your time helps our thrift store generate revenue for CRITI’s programs.

Child Advocacy Program: Volunteers are needed Monday evenings to provide a safe, supportive presence for children while their mothers participate in programming.

Whether you can give a few hours on the weekend or join us on Monday nights, your time makes a difference. Sign up to volunteer and help us create more opportunities for women and children to thrive.

Welcome to the CRITI Team!

Please welcome Cheyenne to Chattanooga Room in the Inn as our new Program Assistant! Originally from Louisiana, Cheyenne recently moved to Chattanooga with her five children, including twin boys. She joins CRITI with previous experience at the Woman’s Hospital Foundation in Baton Rouge and is excited to bring her creativity, hard work, and passion for helping others to our team.

Cheyenne is looking forward to contributing to CRITI’s mission and helping ensure women and children have the support and resources they need to move toward stability and a brighter future.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, singing, and playing the piano at church. We are so glad to have her on the team and look forward to all she will bring to CRITI!

Year-Round Impact Made Possible By Our Annual Sponsors

A sponsorship with Chattanooga Room in the Inn is more than a marketing opportunity. It is a year-long partnership with an organization working every day to help women and children experiencing homelessness find stability, build independence, and create a stronger future.

Our Annual Sponsorship program gives local businesses an opportunity to invest in this work while building meaningful connections with the Chattanooga community. Sponsors are recognized throughout the year through CRITI’s communications, events, digital platforms, and other community outreach.

When your business sponsors CRITI, you are helping make our work possible while showing your customers, employees, and community what you value.
