10am Mindful Discussions for Adults

This Sunday's Topic: "A Historic Election." This year's midterm election results were historic in a number of ways. During our discussion this week, we'll explore the myriad ways that history was made and what this may mean for our immediate and longer-term future. Please join us.

Youth are always welcome to participate in the Mindful Discussions, and childcare is available for ages 0-10 starting at 9:45am.

UUFF Cares

UUFF Member, Linda "Journey" Flores (pictured) died on Monday, 10/26, after suffering a heart attack and stroke.

Linda's life partner, Rob Pressman, could use some support as he goes through this difficult time. Cards can be sent to 4594 E. Huntsville Rd., Fayetteville, AR 72701.

Stevie Gaines, UUFF's former minister and current friend, lost their child this past Sunday. Caleb Steven Gaines (pictured), 14, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, following a battle with leukemia and numerous complications.

In celebration of Caleb's life, a memorial service will take place at 2pm on Saturday afternoon, November 7th, at New Heights Church’s administrative center, 3011 North College Avenue in Fayetteville. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes unopened, boxed LEGO sets, which will be displayed at the service and then donated to ACH Northwest to bless other patients.

Many of you may remember a younger Caleb from Stevie's time as our minister prior to Rev. Renée. I certainly do, with much fondness and now heartbreak. Cards/notes can be mailed to Stevie (Rev. Dr. Steven Gaines) at: 3600 N. Garfield, AFA 140, Midland, TX 79705.

UUFF Events, Announcements & Opportunities

The UUFF Space and Facilities Planning Committee (SFPC) has good news to share! UUFF has engaged the highly respected SCM Architects of Fayetteville to provide their professional assessment of options for expanding our meeting space.

Over the next few months, Scott Leonard and his team will visit UUFF to develop a thorough understanding of our building, its history, and its current condition. With the holidays approaching, we anticipate receiving their preliminary report shortly after January 1st.

The project will be funded using a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the “annex” that has not yet been invested.

If you have questions, please reach out to any member of the SFPC: LeAnda Gavin, Steve Krogull, Earl McShane, Rev. Renée, Paula Rimmer, Susie Schroeder, Gene Vinzant, or Gretchen Wilkes.

UUFF's 2027 Stewardship Pledge Drive is in full swing!

Members, please fill out your annual membership form as soon as possible. There are paper forms in the lobby OR you can CLICK HERE to complete a quick and easy online version! We would love to have 2027 forms from all members and supporting friends turned in or submitted online by November 15th.
