Forming a Search Team – Respond by Sunday Nov. 8

EXTENDED one week! SCC’s Local Church Profile is nearly ready to publish, and Church Committee is seeking input from the congregation to assist in the next step: forming SCC’s Search Team. We really would appreciate your input!

  1. Select Search Team Survey to identify up to 4 potential members of the Search Team that you feel would best represent your interests. This survey is anonymous.
  2. Optionally and in addition, select I’m Interested Survey if you would like to share your interest in serving on the Search Team.

Note: Paper copies of the surveys are also available in Bates Hall on the table next to the elevator room. Please contact George Baumgarten at geobaum@comcast.net if you have questions. Thanks!

Profile Q&A this past Sunday - Thank you!

Thanks much to those of you who shared your thoughts last Sunday on SCC’s Church Profile. The Transition Team met this week and is updating the profile accordingly.

You may still email your comments anytime to comments@2ndcc.org or contact any member of the Transition Team: Connie Afshar, George Baumgarten, Rick Kirkendall, Kate Mullally, DeeDee Perry, Marsha Silvia, or Doug Thompson.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts on the future of SCC!

Outreach News

Clothing Drive- The first pick up for Cradles to Crayons happened today, Friday, and it was a big one! Let’s keep up the good work. Ask your friends and family for donations and bring them to the big purple box. Anything in new or good used condition is appreciated.

Pot Luck Luncheon- We will having a pot luck luncheon on Sunday, November 8th after service. Soups, salads and desserts are on the menu, so get out your favorite recipies...I hear a pumpkin soup and cornbread are already planned by one family.

SUNDAY SERVICE SIGNUPS

In keeping with our tradition here at SCC, we are signing up in advance for Sunday volunteer opportunities. While some slots for the upcoming weeks are already filled, several spots remain open. If you would like to contribute, please add your name to the sign-up sheets located at the entrance to Bates Hall.

Children's Corner

Please have children begin in the sanctuary at the children's table and, after the children's message from Pastor Ellen, they will be dismissed to class/childcare.

The children will be sharing bags they have helped decorate for Thanksgiving. to be filled for Thanksgiving giving.

Flower Committee

The floawers this week are given by The Youngs and Willettes in memory of Grandparents Clark & Gertrude Young and Jim & Jessie Gibson.

You're in luck. There are still some dates available through the end of the year if you are interested in donating flowers for a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion, or just sharing a beautiful arrangement in the sanctuary.

You may provide your own flowers or, if needed, reach out to Judith @ 617-750-3528 or email JBloomin@gmail.com (cost for an arrangement can be flexible).
