Coordinator Corner

by Tracy Vivo, OCPSA

Behavioral Health & Wellness Coordinator

The Lowellville Local School district holds an annual Family Wellness Night. Beginning last school year, we incorporated a Sources of Strength theme into family wellness night in order to further introduce our students, families and greater community to this important upstream suicide prevention programming focused on strength and protective factors.

It was wonderfully successful and impactful. Therefore, this school year we continued in the same fashion. To make it extra engaging, we incorporated the Sources for Good campaigning strategies with a focus on the recently released Wicked for Good movie and called our evening "Wicked Wellness Night".

It was the most exciting and well-attended family wellness night to date. Our Sources of Strength peer leaders and wellness club members, along with staff, teachers, board members and community members all contributed to a wonderful evening while we celebrated those in our life who help us along our journey or yellow brick road.
