Dear Friend,
Across Contra Costa County, more families than ever are struggling to put healthy food on the table. Now, with the suspension of CalFresh (SNAP) benefits, thousands more will suddenly face empty pantries and difficult choices. At White Pony Express, we believe no one should go hungry when there is so much abundance around us. That’s why we’re launching a countywide food drive!
FILL THE HUNGER GAP: A WPE COUNTYWIDE FOOD DRIVE
October 28 – November 30, 2025
Our goal is to provide access to good food at county pantries, shelters, schools, and senior centers during this challenging time. We’re calling on our community—individuals, schools, businesses, service clubs, faith groups—to donate nonperishable, protein-rich food and make financial contributions in response to this crisis.
HOW CAN I HELP?
• Donate nonperishable, protein-rich foods such as canned tuna, beans, nut butter, shelf-stable milk, and canned soups.
• Organize a food drive at your workplace, school, or in your neighborhood.
• If you can’t donate food, consider a financial contribution.
• Spread the word by sharing our posts on social media and inviting others to join you.
DROP OFF LOCATION
White Pony Express, 2470 Bates Avenue, Suite D, Concord CA. If you are conducting a large-scale food drive and have questions, email donatefood@whiteponyexpress.org.
When our community comes together, extraordinary things happen. Let’s show once again what’s possible when all of us take care of all of us!
In warm solidarity,
Eve Birge
