Join us for our inaugural meeting on February 13 to discuss The Backyard Bird Chronicles by Amy Tan. Discussions will be facilitated by Mary Sussman, who previously led Shakespeare and Company (2003-2005), dedicated to the works of William Shakespeare; and League Café, dedicated to books about racial equity (2018-2023). Copies of the book will be available at the adult reference desk.

This 45-minute class will be play-based and fun, and it is designed to empower you to enhance your child's language development through everyday routines, play, and music. You'll leave with some concrete tips and ideas to incorporate at home and on-the-go.

Join us for a fun time building at our all ages, drop-in Block Party! We'll have a variety of building materials perfect for a variety of ages, and you're invited to come and build. Stop by for 15 minutes of building or stay for the entire session!
Friends of the Whitefish Bay Public Library Writing Contest
Friends are once again offering Friends of the Whitefish Bay Public Library Writing Contest. This will be the 12th straight year for the contest, which includes submission categories for short story (1,000 words or less), memoir (1,000 words or less), and poetry (200 words or less). The contest is open to anyone 16 and up. Submissions will be accepted from January 13 - February 10 and are limited to one entry per category per person. Cash prizes will be awarded in spring. Please include a cover page on your entry with the following: Name, address, email, phone number, entry date, and category.
