Village of Whitefish Bay Official Weekly Newsletter

Message from the Village President, Kevin Buckley

There are two interesting meetings today:

  • The Bike & Pedestrian Safety information meeting will be held at the library from 4-6pm.
  • The Plan Commission will meet to discuss the conditional use permit for The Argo, which plans to reopen the Fox-Bay Theater. The public is invited and will have the opportunity to speak.

Village staff and members of the CDA have been working on The Argo project for the past ~6 weeks, analyzing the concerns, which break down into financial and "quality of life" issues for our village.

While the financial inputs can be calculated and spent, the parking, noise, and safety issues need serious study, planning, and mitigation, which is more difficult. We will persevere.

Have a great week! -kb

Why Is The Village Hall Phone Ringing?

What are the rules for dog walking? With the mild winter, many residents are walking outside. Remember that dogs are required to be be on a leash and you are required to pick up after your dog!

Is there a Primary Election in February? Yes! There will be a Primary Election on Tuesday, February 18. Click here to review a sample ballot (ballot is the same for all wards).

Weekly update 1/27-2/3: On 1/30 at 7:23am, a resident in the 4600blk N Lake stated that an unknown male subject was sleeping on a couch in their basement. The subject did not speak much English, but had told the homeowner they were lost. The man was arrested for loitering/prowling and trespassing. Nothing was stolen from the house, but at some point, the man did eat some avocado toast and fruit from the kitchen. On 2/1 at 7:39pm a resident in the 800blk E Henry Clay called to report a loud wind chime. It was windy. He was advised to talk with his neighbor about the noise, so he could wind down and relax as it was not a police issue.
