Residents and owners in Colorado Springs are able to see the growth that observers from afar may not see. Living in Colorado Springs gives you an edge up on what's happening here. Below is a link to the latest report from Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs , a local non-profit that keeps tabs on our downtown and works hard to keep it flourishing. A couple of quick excerpts from the report:

• Downtown has experienced an 18% year over year increase in construction, over $1.7 Billion dollars of completed or in-progress work.

• Even in such a bleak year, Colorado Springs led nationally in hotel occupancy during certain weeks and weekends in summer and fall. The city had the seventh highest hotel occupancy across the United States in 2020.

• 2020 was the first year that asking rents within the DDA surpassed citywide averages for retail real estate, partially due to the delivery of new or renovated spaces. In Q1 of 2019, Downtown asking rents averaged $16.27 psf, where in Q1 2021 this increased nearly $2 psf to $18.60.
