Get ready to don your capes and masks because Keeping the Promise is back, and it's time for YOU to become a superhero for a day!
We are thrilled to announce the return of Keeping the Promise, the most epic giving day in support of the San Diego Promise. For 24 hours on October 18, San Diego Community College District faculty, classified professionals, and friends will come together to make a difference. You can support the San Diego Promise with a gift of any size, joining forces with the larger community to make a monumental impact. All gifts, no matter the size, will open doors of opportunity for San Diego Promise students.
Keeping the Promise is your chance to shine like a superhero. You can participate in Keeping the Promise in these ways:
-
Make a gift directly on the Keeping the Promise page
- Pledge your ongoing support by enrolling in employee payroll deduction
- Show your support by sharing Keeping the Promise on social media
Over the years the San Diego Promise has powerfully evolved from a program that provided two years of free tuition for first time/full time students, to a program that reaches our most vulnerable students, including current and former foster youth, veterans, justice impacted students, students returning to school after years in the workforce, and those students who cannot attend full-time due to family and work obligations. As a result, this fall we had more than 6,000 applications with almost 3,000 students signing contracts for the Promise so far. And that’s up 2,500 from a year ago.
I hope you’ll mark your calendar and join me on October 18 in supporting the San Diego Promise. Until then, sharpen your superhero skills, and get ready for an action-packed day of giving!
With heroic regards,
Gregory Smith
Acting Chancellor
