Next Gen Sunday is Aug. 17

Our Next Gen Sunday is on August 17 at 9:00 and 10:30 AM. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the next generation and encourage them as they prepare to head back to school!

Kids and Youth classes will not meet on Sunday morning so that we may all worship together. However, classes will be available for our littlest ones (birth through 5 years). If you choose to keep your very young children with you that morning, we have a soundproof Cry Room located at the back of the Worship Center.

We look forward to seeing you on NextGen Sunday!

Sunday Morning Help Needed

Are you looking for an opportunity to serve on Sunday mornings? If so, we have an opportunity for you! We need volunteers to help prepare for services and greet.

Volunteers to Greet will be asked to welcome people as they enter and exit our building, one Sunday a month, for one worship service. Volunteers will be asked to be ready to shake hands and say 'hello' 15 minutes before the service begins and for 10 minutes after the service ends.

Training will be available for both positions. For more information, please contact Alison Morrow.

Senior Adult Ministry: Corn Roast

The Senior Adult Ministry invites EVERYONE to join us for lunch and a traditional Corn Roast in the Youth Center on Saturday, August 16, at 11:30 AM. In addition to the food and fellowship, Christian comedian Charles Marshall will perform for us!

The cost is $5/person, payable online or at the door.

BibleWalk Museum Tour

The Women’s Ministry invites you to join us for a day trip to the BibleWalk Museum in Mansfield, OH, on Thursday, September 11, from 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM. This museum is truly a local treasure and a labor of love for God’s Word, and we look forward to exploring it with you!

We will travel by chartered bus to The BibleWalk Museum. The cost is $25/person with a box lunch or $20/person who chooses to opt out of a box lunch.

Connect Class

Do you have questions about Jesus, faith, baptism, church membership or our overall vision for Worthington Christian Church?

If so, we encourage you to attend our Connect Class on Sunday, August 24 at 9:00 AM in rm. 132. This class is PERFECT for someone new (or mostly new) to Worthington Christian Church. Led by Outreach Minister Jay Scott, this class will offer a relaxed atmosphere for honest questions and discussion.

Please let us know if you plan on joining us!

Kids Ministry Volunteer Kickoff

Attention all Kids Ministry Volunteers: We’re excited to start a new year with you in Kids Ministry!

Join us on Sunday, August 24, from 11:30 to 1:30 PM for a volunteer get-together with good food, friends and a time dedicated to casting vision for the new school year. Don’t miss it!

Please RSVP by August 20 so we have enough food for everyone!

Blood Drive: August 25

Our next Blood Drive is Monday, August 25, from Noon to 6:00 PM in the Youth Center.

If you are eligible to donate, please make an appointment today! Your donation of a single pint of blood has the potential to save up to THREE lives.

DivorceCare beings Aug. 20

Our DivorceCare support group is 14 weeks long and usually meets twice a year. We are a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. DivorceCare offers valuable resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.

You don’t have to go through it alone.

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.

Our next session of DivorceCare is from Wednesday, August 20 to November 19 from 6:45 to 8:30 PM.

Worthington Resource Pantry

We have partnered with the Worthington Resource Pantry since 2020 by collecting non-perishable food donations, toiletries, and various supplies as needed. If you can donate, please check the list below for current pantry needs:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Chicken or Tuna
  • Cereal
  • Rice (in 1lb. bags)
  • Diapers (sizes 2 and up)
  • Personal Hygiene items (maxi pads, etc.)

NOTE: The WRP also accepts donations of dog and cat food.

Remember, you can drop off your donations at any time! A blue donation bin is available at each of the church's entrances, and we regularly empty the bins to make room for additional items. If you have any questions, please contact Alison Morrow.
