Despite the chilly weather and remaining snow and ice, Scouts had a great time at Camp T. Brady Saunders, attending the James River District Klondike Derby the weekend of February 13th. This special event brought together Cub Scouts, Webelos, AOL Scouts, Scouts BSA, and Venturing Crews for a weekend of outdoor adventure and friendly competition. Patrols navigated between stations using map and compass, pulled their gear-filled sleds across woods and hills, and tested their Scout skills in challenges ranging from fire building and first aid to knots, cooking, and physical fitness, earning “gold nuggets” to use at the Saturday evening equipment auction.
