November has arrived!!

Excitement is building at Caledonia Nordic as we prepare for another incredible winter! Peter and his team have pulled out the snow guns in preparation for snowmaking, and Aaron has been working hard to get the buildings ready for the season — while also assisting those registering with cash or cheque.

And best of all… it SNOWED!

That brief blizzard transformed the club into a winter wonderland and reminded us that the season is just around the corner. The beauty of the snowfall was so inspiring that I spent the weekend painting — moved by the stunning photos captured around the club (Thanks for the inspiration Aaron).

The energy and excitement are back in the air — make sure you are part of it!

And the Winners Are....

We are excited to share that we have four lucky winners from our most recent membership draw!

A big thank you to Stride & Glide Sports for their generous contribution and ongoing support over the years — your partnership continues to help us build excitement for the coming season.

Congratulations to this week’s winners:

  • Tim Antill
  • Donna Atkinson
  • Heather Flannagan
  • Steven Foster

Feel free to head out to the Club to collect your prize! Please call ahead at 250-564-3809 to make sure Aaron is in the office — he’s usually on site but has a tendency to wander off tackling other jobs around the club.

Remember, the only way to get entered into these draws is to have your 2025-26 Membership!

It is going to be a great year — don’t miss your chance to be part of it!

Caledonia Nordic Wins

Business Excellence Award!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news — the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club has been named the Winner of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award for Excellence in Entertainment & Attractions, proudly presented by Tourism Prince George!

This recognition is a true reflection of our incredible members, volunteers, staff, and visitors who make Caledonia Nordic such a positive and welcoming part of our community. Your passion, dedication, and support continue to drive everything we do — from world-class events and programs to the everyday joy of being outdoors together.

From all of us at Caledonia Nordic — thank you for helping us grow, thrive, and inspire year after year. We could not have done it without you!

Terus Dog Trail Expansion

Taking Shape!

We are pleased to share that a portion of the new Terus Dog Trail Expansion was completed this fall. The ground conditions made progress a bit slower than expected, but excellent strides were made, and we are very excited to get out there this season.

This new addition will expand the options available for all skiers, including those who enjoy the trails with their dogs, and will make our dog-friendly network even better for everyone.

Now, we would like your input.

We are looking for ideas for a name for the new trail. If you have a creative or meaningful suggestion, please send it to our Trails Director, Paul Schuetz. All submissions will be reviewed by the Trails Committee, and we hope to announce the official trail name at the start of the season.

We look forward to hearing your ideas and to seeing everyone, both two-legged and four-legged, enjoying the expanded trails this winter.

Trails Committee Update

Volunteer Opportunity

We are currently seeking to add a new member to our Trails Committee. This committee plays an important role in guiding the development, maintenance, and future planning of our trail network throughout the year.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mark Earle, who has been a dedicated member of the Trails Committee for many years and has now decided to move on. We thank him for his time, commitment, and contributions to the success of our trails program.

If you are interested in joining the Trails Committee or would like more information, please contact our Trails Director, Paul Schuetz. Your insight, experience, and passion for trails can make a real difference in the continued growth of our club.

Calling All Future Coaches

We Need You!

The snow arrived, briefly, and with it comes that unmistakable buzz of excitement for another winter at Caledonia Nordic. The trails are turning white, the snow guns are ready, and our Skills Development Program (SDP) is about to begin — but we need your help to make it happen.

Our SDP program simply cannot run without volunteer coaches. Every year, this program helps kids build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love for skiing — but right now, we need more coaches to get every child out on snow.

Whether you are an experienced skier or brand new to coaching, we will set you up for success. The club covers all certification costs and provides mentorship, training days, and a supportive team environment. We are also introducing new ways to make coaching easier and more flexible, including shared leadership roles and athlete helpers during sessions.

If you have ever thought about getting involved, now is the time. With the snow already here, we are getting ready to launch another incredible season — and we want you to be part of it.

Please reach out to our Program Coordinator, Belinda Hanlon, at programadmin@caledonianordic.com to join the team or to learn more. Your help will make all the difference for our young skiers this winter.
