We receive many questions about several areas in the City. We are working hard to move projects along; please see below for updates.

Pier Parking Lot

The Pier Parking Lot has reopened and is now available for public use following recent curb, sidewalk, and asphalt work. Thank you for your patience during this phase of construction.

Additional improvements are still underway. Temporary striping is currently in place, and crews will return later this winter for final striping and landscaping. Full completion of the project is expected by January 2026.

We’ll continue to share updates as work progresses and as final phases are scheduled.

900-Day Construction Project

This project contains reconstruction of the city blocks east of SR A1A, from 5th Avenue South to 10th  Avenue South and is expected to finish ahead of schedule. The work includes a new stormwater conveyance system. Contractors will also regrade the area to improve surface water flow, install new sidewalks, driveways, lighting, add public parking, and replace the existing water and sewer facilities which are coming to the end of their lifespan.

Crew are currently working to complete this project in January 2026, although delays are still possible. This would complete the project 200+ days ahead of schedule!
