Greetings!

This Mother's Day, give a gift that truly matters to the future of plants, pollinators and wildlife in the Pacific Northwest and the Southwest.

Your donation to support the conservation of native species and habitats will be matched by us in the form of planting a dozen endangered Willamette daisies (Erigeron decumbens) or New Mexico beardtongue flowers (Penstemon neomexicanus) in honor of you or a loved one for each donation we receive before May 8th, 2023.
As an organization dedicated to restoring habitat for rare and endangered species, we will be planting thousands of endangered Willamette daisies (Erigeron decumbens) and rare New Mexico beardtongue flowers (Penstemon neomexicanus) later this year to restore the Earth.

This Mother's Day, consider making a donation in honor of someone special in your life to support our conservation work. Your donation to support the conservation of native species and habitats will be acknowledged with a Mother's Day card to you or a loved one.

Note: Donations must be received by us on or before May 8th in order for us to send a card to arrive by Mother's Day!
Our staff and volunteers will plant out the endangered flowers at nearby restoration site in Oregon and New Mexico in the Fall during planting season. Your support for native species and habitats is critical to restoring ecosystems and healing the planet.

Join us through making a contribution to the Earth this Mother's Day! Remember, all donations must be received by us on or before May 8th in order for us to send a card to arrive by Mother's Day!

Yours,
Tom Kaye, PhD
Executive Director

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Plants for People: Restoring First Foods Habitat
May 20 Champoeg State Heritage Area, Oregon

This summer, you are invited to join the Institute for Applied Ecology and the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde to help restore prairie habitat—at a First Foods Harvest Area in Champoeg State Heritage Area. Land conversion and degradation in the Pacific Northwest has led to a loss of over 99% of historical prairie habitat, including culturally significant species. You can help us restore indigenous First Foods in native prairie habitat, while contributing to the recovery of the land!

Marys Peak Sapling Pull & Cut
May 20 Marys Peak, Oregon

Please join the Institute for Applied Ecology (IAE) at the Marys Peak summit for our spring conifer sapling pull and cut! This is a great opportunity to see one of Oregon’s most spectacular sites, meet new friends and help preserve a truly unique ecosystem. Mid-elevation prairies are continually threatened by conifer encroachment and invasive non-native species. Removing these species is critical for the preservation and maintenance of this special place.
