Pancake Productions is a mom-and-pop video/photo production company that takes the art of storytelling seriously. Need an explainer video? A website video or photo for your About Us page? Content for your Insta Feed? Facebook Feed? Local stock video? Whether it is for your website, social media, branding or events, we help folks connect with their audience through story-driven content with both cinematic elegance and heart. Other than video, we also offer photography, graphic design, creative writing, workshops and consulting.

Qualicum Beach Time Capsule: Morgan Hotel

Presented by the Qualicum Beach Museum

Garth Morgan came to Qualicum in 1915 and was the Quartermaster for the Military Convalescent Hospital until 1919 when it reverted to the Qualicum Beach Hotel. He bought a property on Burnham Road from the Qualicum Water Company. This property did not have a covenant prohibiting its use as a hotel, as did the properties controlled by the Qualicum Beach Hotel. He built the Morgan Hotel in about 1923. In the early 1950s the hotel was sold and became the Qualicum Arms Hotel. It had two owners up until 1969 when Jack and Joan Collins bought it. They ran it for four years then sold it to the Donovans from Port Alberni. It continued to be run as a hotel until 1979 when it was converted to a private home. The building was recently demolished.
