Male and Female Incontinence: Do you need pelvic floor physiotherapy?

Do you feel the need to use the bathroom the moment you pull into your driveway? Do you experience leakage when you cough, sneeze or during exercise? Do you have ongoing issues with hemorrhoids and constipation? Both women AND men, can experience urinary incontinence. Bladder leakage becomes more common during/after pregnancy, as well as with increasing age.

Pelvic floor physiotherapy can help these and other symptoms of urine and bowel incontinence, as well as constipation, even as we age. Using our expertise about muscular systems, specially-trained pelvic floor physiotherapists can assess and identify the issue. Using (internal and external) manual techniques, specific exercise training as well as advice about behaviour and lifestyle modifications, physiotherapy can help improve your bladder and bowel symptoms. Imagine the freedom!

Studio Zee Pilates is pleased to offer this informative session with pelvic floor physiotherapist, Juanit Fazari, PT, FCAMPT, MSc. PT. where she will talk about what your pelvic floor is comprised of, what type of issues/injuries are common when there is a pelvic floor dysfunction in both men and women, how pelvic floor physiotherapy could help, and what is involved!
About Juanit Fazari, PT:

Juanit Fazari has been practising physiotherapy in Hamilton for over 10years. She is a graduate of McMaster University and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT). In addition to manual therapy, she has completed numerous post-graduate courses to enhance her clinical "tool-belt", including pelvic floor physiotherapy. Having had children herself recently, she has come to realize the importance of the pelvic floor function and the role it plays in our overall health as we age.
We love to see how you’re practicing at home.
