THIS WEEKEND

@ TRINITY

This weekend! - Join us for Fall Fest for all the family @ Trinity! Saturday, 3:30pm - 5:30pm. Free, family, fall, fun!

Trinity, there's a place for you.

This Sunday is Week #2 of our 2027 Stewardship Campaign "This is my Story; This is my Song". During some of our services there will be an opportunity to hear more from members of the church family about why giving is important to them and why they are excited to give here at Trinity.

After the 10:30am service the Trinity Stewardship Committee will be serving Hot Apple Cider and Fresh Donuts in the church courtyard. They'll be opportunities to ask your questions about giving, pledging, and how we use your vital financial support to make ministry happen here at Trinity!

STEWARDSHIP 2027

This Sunday is the second of our 2027 Stewardship Campaign at Trinity Church which will run through until mid-November. Look out for This is my Story - This is my Song with more information about generosity, giving, and pledging at Trinity Church and how you can be part of making God’s work happen in this place.

During the next few weeks every member of the Trinity Church family will receive a 2027 stewardship pack in their mailbox. Please read it, pray about it, and respond with the love and generosity which God shows to each of us, and which we are all called to share. If you have any questions, please reach out to The Rev. Jason or any member of the staff team who will be delighted to help.

  • View the stewardship 2027 campaign brochure and read a letter from The Rev. Jason here.

NOTICE BOARD

@ TRINITY

The Hunt Country Fashion Show was held at Trinity Episcopal Church as a special fundraising event from around 1950, where it was famously emceed by dancer and entertainer Adele Astaire. It was a significant event, supported by major stores in Washington D.C. and featured each year in the Washington Post and widely in the regional press. The show continued successfully for many decades, finally pulling up the runway around the mid 1980’s.

Anne Coyner is the steward of a fascinating scrapbook archive of records, articles, and photographs of these event which we are currently working to digitalize. Anne is currently gathering opinions and ideas exploring the feasibility of re-starting this event. There will be an open meeting to explore this idea further, on Sunday, November 8th, 11:30am, Peard House, Parlor. A light brunch will be served, archive materials will be available to view, and there will be an open meeting to discuss ideas and possibilities. Come along to be part of this or just to find out more - no commitment required at this stage.

More information from Anne Coyner here or (540) 592-3819.

WINE & WORD

Our fall sessions focus on events in the Old Testament which are foundational to our faith, but which we often take for granted. Our first topic will be CREATION! (Bet you didn’t see that coming!) Readings from Scripture will be provided for each session. Come prepared to discuss:

1. What did you like?

2. What did you find challenging?

3. What does it say about God?

4. What does it say about people?

5. What, if anything, does it say to you, especially in your day-to-day life?

SCHEDULE: 6:30PM-8:00PM: Nov 2, Nov 16, Nov 30, & Dec 14

  • We meet at 22834 Polecat Hill Road, Middleburg, 20117.

PROJECT NEARS COMPLETION!

Works to extend and remodel the Trinity garage building are almost complete! The completed project will provide additional vehicle garaging, storage, and a dedicated workshop space to support the maintenance and management of the Trinity Church Campus including the Outdoor Sanctuary. We are delighted to be working with our selected contractors Kwon Construction.

It is intended that in the near future, with completion of this project, all maintenance and equipment storage facilities will be relocated to this one, single location at the east of the campus, a change which we hope will help support our vision for a neater, safer, and more cohesive use of our beautiful campus. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

This project has been made possible through the support of the Gerard B. Lambert Foundation and is honor of the life and legacy of Rachel (Bunny) Mellon.

BRING-A-CAN-TO-CHURCH!

Our permanent food collection baskets are in place in the church vestibule and on the porch of Trinity Thrift & Boutique. Whenever you come to church or visit Trinity Thrift & Boutique please bring a can of food (any variety) to donate to our food collection appeal for the new Piedmont Food Bank, based out of Upperville Methodist Church.

Please check "Best Before" dates on all items before donating. Please do not items past their due date. Thank you!

OUTDOOR SANCTUARY

Works in connection with Phase One of our Outdoor Sanctuary enhancement and improvement project continue. These include clearing and removal of invasive undergrowth species within the woodland areas, bush hogging of selected grassland areas, and the start of an ambitious tree planting program. We are delighted to be working with our selected contractors Virginica LLC.

During the next few months please take extra care when walking in the Outdoor Sanctuary and keep dogs under control. Please stay away from machinery and active works areas which could pose a danger to you and your pets. Thank you.

More information is displayed at all entrances to the Outdoor Sanctuary. This project has been made possible through the support of the Gerald B. Lambert Foundation and is honor of the life and legacy of Rachel (Bunny) Mellon.

If you would like to get on the Trinity Singles Evite list, send your email here. Pass the word about this new group to your single friends, all are welcome, you do not have to be a church member to attend. This is not a dating club. This group was created to help foster community among Christian Singles in the area.

OURDOOR SANCTUARY LOOKS TO THE FUTURE!

Through the munificence of the Gerard B. Lambert Foundation, Trinity Church has received a generous grant award for the revitalization and improvement of the Outdoor Sanctuary at the Trinity Church campus.

In total the grant package is worth $5m, including $1.5m of match funding to be raised by Trinity Church and its wide community of support. The grant is intended to further the legacy of Rachel (Bunny Mellon) and the things that were most important to her during in her lifetime, especially concerning Trinity Church and campus and her passion for environmentalism and ecological conservation and restoration. This follows on from an initial development award from the Lambert Foundation of $180,000 which has funded development of vision and scoping documents, and outline development plans and ideas.

We are truly grateful for the creativity, wisdom, and discernment of the Trinity Church Outdoor Sanctuary group, who, for 18 months have worked with Nelson Byrd Woltz (landscape architects) to bring this project to fruition. With the agreement and support of the Vestry detailed proposals and contracts for year 1 works are now underway, with more exciting developments to follow over the next 5-year period. This major funding also includes the provision to create a new dedicated endowment fund for future maintenance of the Outdoor Sanctuary.

We look forward to this cherished and beautiful part of God's creation playing a significantly enhanced role in the overall ministry of Trinity Church - both spiritually and practically. Watch our social media platforms and other communications for more exciting news to follow.
