Appreciation Night

Exclusively for Members, Donors and Educators

October 13, 2022 • 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Ever wonder how a box becomes a box? Or how a sneaker can be a sneaker? Our newest traveling exhibit, How People Make Things, has the answers! It's one of the most unique experiences the museum has ever had, and we want to give you a special experience with planetarium shows, refreshments and unique demonstrations too.

Explore how students can experience our

"Factory Floor" where they can:

  • Create objects to take home using real tools and machines that explore the manufacturing processes of molding, cutting, deforming and assembly

  • Discover how familiar objects — Vans sneakers, Matchbox Cars, and baseballs — are transformed from raw materials to finished products with their manufacturing process

  • Relive manufacturing factory visits with Fred Rogers in vintage Picture Picture videos from the original Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood series

Produced by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, How People Make Things is locally presented by Alro Steel with support from the Charles Aymond Fund. The exhibit will be in Jackson through Jan. 8, 2023. Learn more about the exhibit  here.
