April 28 from 11 a.m. to noon
The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program is a unique Fulbright Scholar Program initiative to enhance internationalization efforts on campus. Through the S-I-R Program, institutions host a scholar from outside of the United States for a semester or full academic year to teach courses, assist in curriculum development, guest lecture, develop study abroad/exchange partnerships and engage with the campus and the local community.

Retroactive COVID-related leave requests due April 15
President’s Cabinet has announced a new COVID-Related Paid Leave plan to support employees who have committed to helping keep NIC safe by staying home when they have COVID-related symptoms or exposure.
NIC continues to prioritize staying home when symptomatic or exposed to COVID as an important part of our mitigation strategy to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
PC has heard the concerns of employees about the financial impact of the requirement to isolate or quarantine for COVID-related reasons.
To help reduce the burden on employees, up to two weeks of paid leave are now available to all employees who would otherwise go unpaid or use accrued leave time when directed by Rapid-Trace or Human Resources to quarantine or isolate.
This time can be used for absences that occur in the remainder of the current fiscal year and also to cover previous absences retroactively to the time that the Family First Coronavirus Response Act paid leave program ended on December 31, 2020. Employees must initiate all retroactive requests by April 15.
· have tested positive for COVID-19,
· have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19, or
· are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
Thank you for continuing to do your part to help #ProtectTheNest and for all you do to keep our environment safe and healthy so that we can continue to deliver learning opportunities for students and our community.

Enrollment Services Ambassadors wanted
More applications needed; please share with students!
The Enrollment Services Ambassador program offered by North Idaho College is an exciting opportunity for NIC students to grow as student leaders.
Over the course of the year, Ambassadors support the student services of the college in one of the following Enrollment Services Offices for approximately 300 total hours: Admissions, Advising, Cardinal Central, Financial Aid, Recruitment, or Registrar.
While there, they provide individual or group tours to prospective students and their families to help them discover if NIC is the right place to further their education. Depending on which department they work in, they may support the initial interest of prospective students, guide them through the enrollment steps, answer financial aid questions, or assist with meeting an advisor.
Enrollment Services Ambassadors receive a Cardinal Grant equivalent to resident tuition and fees at 12 credits each fall and spring semester. Ambassadors experience a growth of character and learn skills to be a successful leader and teammate. In addition, Ambassadors gain knowledge in office settings that make them more employable and enable them to have a higher chance of obtaining a job after graduating from NIC.
The application period ends April 8.
Questions should be directed to Cardinal Central at (208) 769-3311.
