Mulmur Proud - Community Spotlight

Heritage Bee Co. Represents Canada

Heritage Bee Co. was recently selected as part of the Agri-food cohort for the largest Canadian trade mission to SE Asia!  Only 35 agri-food companies were selected across Canada, with only 2 food companies chosen from Ontario.

Three Federal Ministers were in attendance, as well as many prominent business leaders both from Canada and Japan. The Mission ran from June 22 - 26, 2026 in Tokyo.

Congratulations Heritage Bee Co.!

New Trail Open at Pine River Fishing Area

We are pleased to share that a new walking trail has now been completed, connecting the west parking lot to the east parking lot, and creating a new route for visitors to explore and enjoy this beautiful area. The project builds on and improves access to some of the area's scenic views and shoreline.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication, hard work and leadership of local resident Greg Lloyd, whose commitment helped turn the trail concept into reality. Special thanks are also extended to Hill n Dale Landscaping, the Bruce Trail Conservancy and the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The works included countless hours of trail clearing, bridge construction, culvert placement, and spreading mulch and gravel.

Thank you Greg, and to everyone who contributed to this project. Your contributions have made this trail connection a reality and have enhanced outdoor recreation opportunities at the Pine River Fishing Area for years to come.

Green Tip - Grow Your Own

A fun and rewarding way to embrace a greener lifestyle this summer is by growing your own vegetables and herbs. Whether you have a spacious backyard or just a small windowsill, gardening empowers you to take control of how your food is grown, free from synthetic pesticides and unnecessary chemicals.

Growing your own produce also reduces your carbon footprint. Store-bought fruits and vegetables often travel long distances before reaching your plate, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.

If outdoor space is limited, don't worry; an indoor herb garden is a perfect alternative. Herbs like basil, mint, parsley, and chives are easy to grow in small pots and thrive in sunny spots.

Gardening is more than just a sustainable choice; it's also an opportunity to reconnect with nature. Tending to plants can be a relaxing and mindful activity, helping reduce stress and encouraging time spent outdoors. It is a great way to slow down, learn something new, and even involve family members in a shared project.
