Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost

October 12, 2025

This Sunday

Rev. Anna Grace Claunch

will preach a sermon entitled

"Grace at the Border"

 based on Luke 17:11-19.

Join us in worship at 10 am in person or via livestream

on Facebook, YouTube, or our Livestream page.

In Our Prayers

  • The prayers of the congregation go out to Beverly Bell and her family, who are grieving the loss of Beverly's brother Ronald G. Johnson, Jr., formerly of Bonney Lake, Washington.
  • Prayers continue for Steve Pearson, Anna Grace's stepfather, who is recovering from heart surgery.
  • We thank God for a potential breakthrough in the conflict between Israel and Gaza, and for the imminent release of prisoners. Lord, may your heavenly peace take hold in hearts and minds. Bring your healing power to bear upon the significant pain that continues.
  • We pray for all those who are grieving the loss of loved ones.
  • For those who will soon undergo surgery or difficult treatments, may God's healing power be felt.
  • We pray for Lori Godwin, who is rehabilitating after a recent hospital stay.

2026 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN!

Christ is the Cornerstone.

We are the Foundation.

Our 2026 Stewardship Campaign is off to an inspiring start! Thank you to our 2026 co-chairs, Anthony Manson and Bill Oleson, and the entire Stewardship committee. We hope that you have been enjoying the Monday Stewardship reflection and the Moment for Mission in weekly Worship. These serve to remind us all just how important a role LAC plays in our individual lives and the community. Our ministry, our programs, and our service and impact can be found in ways large and small.

We look forward to a successful pledge year to continue our ministry and grow our LAC congregation and family. Thank you for your support. We, the congregation, are the foundation of LAC!

A few announcements:

We are the foundation. Don't forget to grab a block to add to our "model" Church. These can be found in the Forest Park foyer. Feel free to be creative in your expression of what LAC means to you -- photographs, verse, quotes, anything at all that moves you would be wonderful! Completed blocks can be returned to the same bin or the church office.

SAVE THE DATE: November 16th is DEDICATION SUNDAY. Yes, the date has been moved, so please make note. There will be a special Worship service to which all are welcome. LATER that day, from 5:30-7:30 PM, join us for a celebratory wine & cheese reception (Adults 21+)

HELP US "HANG THE GREENS" FOR CHRISTMAS

One of the blessings of Advent and Christmas is seeing our sanctuary adorned with the beauty and symbols of the season. If you are interested in helping with those decorations, please email us at lacoffice@lacny.org.

We will follow up with volunteers later with dates, times, and additional information

LAC Food Connection

Could you prepare a meal for a member of our congregation in need? The LAC Food Connection, under the auspices of the Deacons, provides occasional meals for our members who might have surgery or something that prevents them from cooking for themselves. Please contact lacoffice@lacny.org to offer your help. We will add you to our list of volunteers.

Fall 2025

A worthwhile and rewarding community service opportunity for the entire family. Join us to prepare food, personal items, and clothing bundles for the homeless men and women of NYC.
