You still have time to offer your insights for a new animal shelter in Sunnyvale. The Town of Sunnyvale's existing shelter is insufficient for the community's needs and lacks amenities considered standard in modern shelters. The Town is gathering input through an online survey. The survey is open through Nov. 30. Those suggestions and insights will be reviewed by a citizen committee as part of the design process by the Town's project contractor, KSA.

The committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyvale Town Hall, 127 N. Collins Road. This meeting is open to the public and provides another opportunity for input.

Thanksgiving Week Schedule

Town of Sunnyvale offices and the Doris Padgett Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28, for Thanksgiving.

Recycling collections will move to Friday, and trash/bulky collections will move to Saturday.

Get to know Chile!

Learn more about this pet and others on our Petfinder page

Chile is a 15-week-old male domestic short hair: Chile is a kitten with a big heart and a curious mind! Every day, he explores every nook of his shelter home, making everyone laugh with his playful antics. He loves solving little puzzles, like where the treats are hidden. Although Chile is a bit shy at first, once he warms up, he is the gentlest friend you could have. Adopting him means endless fun, love, and a little mystery to brighten your days! Call to set up a "Meet and Greet" appointment. Chile also has siblings you may like.

We would love for you to share this with others and bring awareness to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter's animals and services. If your family is ready to welcome a new member, we currently have many adoptable pets in our shelter looking for a loving home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.
