Grab-n-Go Groceries, Online Expansion, and Cutting Costs
Last week I paid a visit to our food distribution team at the Market Square site. Thank you to all of the organizations and volunteers that are contributing to the efforts to address food insecurity. The village recreation staff continues to put together the grab-and-go grocery bags that are distributed at three times and locations on Tuesdays for walk-up or curbside pick-up:
9-11am at the Community Center; 12-2pm at Market Square; 4-7pm at Star of Bethlehem.

Improving convenience to include online applications has been a priority for years, and the pandemic makes the need for these capabilities even more clear. Last week's work session included a discussion of expanding of the ability for online applications with the town/village clerk's office. We continued to talk about next steps in establishing a youth bureau in the village, as well as modifications to major expenses that had been intended for this year. Town & Village Meetings This Week
There are two important reasons to log on to Zoom meetings this week:

TUESDAY: ASSESSMENT PRESENTATION
Do you have questions about the assessment notices that were mailed out last week? Good news! Town tax assessor Fernando Gonzalez will be providing a departmental report at the start of the town council's meeting happening Tuesday at 7:30pm. Click here for the full agenda and meeting link . If you have questions related to your property specifically, call 800-829-4235 or log on to www.tylertech.com/schedule for an appointment to have a remote informal review meeting. Tomorrow evening Mr. Gonzalez will be speaking about the process of creating the assessment roll. If you have questions about the process that you would like to be sure are addressed during the public meeting, I recommend emailing in advance to fgonzalez@townofossining.com and tc@townofossining.com.

WEDNESDAY: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN VILLAGE HALL
Tune in at 7PM (earlier than our usual starting time) for an update from the village's comprehensive plan steering committee. We will open with an overview of the process, followed by questions from village electeds and staff, and then we will invite community members to ask questions. Click here for the link to virtually attend this special Village Hall Update on the Comprehensive Plan . The meeting video will be available by the next day on our village YouTube channel .

I look forward to seeing you virtually for now.

With Regards,
Victoria Gearity, Ossining Mayor
Teacher Parade!
Tuesday at 3:30PM be on the look out for a parade of cars driven by elementary and middle school teachers. The school district has coordinated with OPD to create a parade route that will bring welcome sightings of beloved teachers in as many neighborhoods as possible.
