Multifactor Authentication

DPS Employees:

 

Since April 11, 2022, we have been using the Microsoft login in place of the NCID login to access the integrated HR Payroll System. On March, 15, we will implement the final phase of this project. Starting on that day, we will activate multifactor authentication or MFA for DPS when logging into the Integrated HR-Payroll System. This means you will be asked to validate your identity by way of something in addition to your username and password.

 

To prepare you for that process, please register at https://osc.nc.gov/mfa. Follow the instructions on that page to register and choose at least two methods of authentication.

  • Microsoft Authenticator app - most secure method
  • Text message to your mobile phone - second recommended method
  • Office phone - only choose if it is your sole option. 


Keep in mind that this may be a different MFA from what you may be currently using. Even if you think you have registered previously, please follow the instructions to ensure you are ready and that you have chosen the most secure authentication options. There are several videos on that page for guidance.

 

If you have questions regarding registration or selecting an authentication method, please contact your NCID administrator.

 

A friendly reminder - keep your NCID information up to date and change your password every 90 days so your account will stay active. If your NCID password expires, it will prevent access to the HR-Payroll system and may take time to get it restored.
