ONLY 3 SEATS REMAIN-SIGN UP NOW!

Our Mold Repair Certification Training is a four-day program that introduces a proven maintenance methodology including rigorous, hands-on training and how to correctly identify and document typical mold issues.

Attendees working in two-man teams will be required to accurately disassemble, evaluate, measure then record discoveries made on a 32-cavity, 3-plate mold with tapered shutoffs using the appropriate (supplied) hand tools. Precision tool purchase, care and use along with different measuring techniques are also covered.

Attendees will also TIG weld, grind, stone and fit tapered bars using sine plate techniques and calculation principles found in all tool rooms.

Attendees will work through all the Eight Stages of Systemized Mold Maintenance and determine appropriate corrective actions while applying the troubleshooting and bench techniques learned throughout the course.

SKILLS LEARNED:

  • Eight Stages of Systemized Mold Maintenance; what they are and their importance
  • Bench practices and techniques when working on molds including using precision tools
  • How to clean molds efficiently using dry ice, ultra-sonic and plastic media technology
  • How to perform a restriction flow analysis of mold cooling channels
  • How defect position tracking uncovers patterns and trends of repeating mold problems
  • What laminar plastic flow is and how it can create problems such as flash, non-fill etc.

HOT RUNNER MAINTENANCE &
REPAIR CERTIFICATION

ONLY 2 SEATS REMAIN-SIGN UP NOW!

Our Hot Runner Maintenance and Repair Course is designed to benefit all levels of hot runner experience from a new apprentice to the most seasoned journeyman, due to the many types of manifold systems used in our courses. This includes molds from the medical, automotive, packaging and personal care product industries. Our course molds are 4, 8, 16, 24, 32, and 48 cavity molds that are built from a variety of manufacturers, with fixed and valve gate actuations.

Each attendee is evaluated to match their experience level with the proper manifold system to troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble. All our systems have been set-up to carefully replicate common performance and maintenance issues, creating real-life problems for attendees to work through, and how to set appropriate PM frequency levels for all the different systems.

WE COVER:

  • Working safely on hot manifolds.
  • Disassembly, cleaning and assembly techniques used at the bench.
  • Typical problems created through bad work habits
  • Critical seal areas and how to clean them properly
  • Wiring how-to, splices, repairs, resistance checking, heater size verification, and replacement

Learning the nuances of any hot runner system, along with different bench techniques happens best in a controlled, safe and “stress-less” shop that provides an engaging environment for hot runner theory and class discussions along with learning and practicing new bench skills and techniques.
