Fellow members of Lord of Life,
Your Call Committee, while not visible in the day-to-day business of the congregation, is actively preparing for the task of vetting and interviewing a candidate for pastor of Lord of Life. We have not yet been provided with the name of any candidate, nor have we any information from the Synod as to when such a candidate may be found. We understand that there are quite a few congregations in New Jersey looking for full-time pastors, and the Synod will try to match the talents and abilities of the candidate with the needs of Lord of Life.
We are currently developing a series of questions and interview strategies for the pastoral candidate. Our guide in this process is the Ministry Site Profile (MSP) developed and approved by the Council. We urge you to read this document, posted on the bulletin board, available electronically using the link below, or the Call Committee. We welcome questions or comments about this document or any part of the entire process. Please address your inquiries to the Chairman, Ed Harding, or any Call Committee member.
We all appreciate the opportunity to serve you and our church in this endeavor. Kindly keep us in prayer as we work to find a new pastor to lead and continue God’s work at Lord of Life.
Peace,
Alan Dennison

Music Ministry "Notes"
From Director Rick Krause
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| |
|
Organ Dedication
9:30 AM Sunday Church Service,
March 2nd
Thank you to everyone in our Lord of Life family who contributed to the acquisition of the Allen MDS-40-S digital organ for our sanctuary. The organ has the potential to fill our sanctuary with beautiful music and lead our church's song for many years to come. We will dedicate the organ at our 9:30 AM worship service on Sunday, March 2nd.
In addition to the generous donations, we are expecting to receive a $1,500 grant from the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM) to help fund the organ project. The ALCM is also planning a feature article in their quarterly publication "In Tempo" about our story to acquire the organ.
Once again, thank you to all those who contributed to obtaining the organ and for helping to make the dream a reality. Blessings!
Rick Krause
Sing With Us!
Lent is a 40-day journey and a time to dedicate ourselves to spiritual growth. One way to do that is to join the choir. The choir focuses on learning the liturgy music, hymns/songs, and anthems that reflect the spirit of the season. There is also time devoted to nourishing our faith. Please consider singing with the choir for the Lenten season--no experience required. See Rick Krause for details. (3rick@lordlife.us or 856-287-5328)
Hymn Suggestions
What is your favorite church hymn or song? Have you heard it recently? Now is the time to suggest it! Please contact me, Rick Krause, (3rick@lordlife.us), and let me know. I will try to incorporate it into our worship services in the near future.
There are babies who need our help!
2025 LENTEN PROJECT
DIAPERS FOR SOLACE!
March 8th Through April 27th
Lent has traditionally been a time when we look at how we can sacrifice for the good of others. The Solace Nutrition Hospital of Hope Alive! Ministries in Haiti needs our help!
This residential ministry provides 24-hour around-the-clock care for babies who are severely malnourished. The babies receive medical care, physical therapy and 4 to 5 nutritious meals daily, hence the need for lots of diapers! Solace babies are literally hugged, loved, and prayed back to good health! When the babies have maintained good health and have reached their goal weight, they RETURN HOME to their FAMILIES. Penny Miller has been a long-time supporter of these ministries as has our congregation.
What can I give up or share to help these little ones during our Lenten journey? Take the Solace Challenge-pray for and donate $1/day for each of the 42 days of Lent! Or, make a bid on the latest Quilt Auction (See the article below.). Whatever you can do, any amount will surely be well used! Look for the drop box in the Narthex, use any of our donation platforms or mail your donation to the church office, including the designation: "Diapers for Solace."
The quilt was fashioned by Gloria Brosious. It measures 84" x 84 " and will cover the top of a queen bed.
Look for a box in the Narthex into which you can place the bidding paper with your name and bid. The minimum bid is $200. The winner will be announced on Sunday, April 13th after bidding closes at 11:00 AM.
Wiley Ministry
Thursday, March 6th,
At 10:00 AM
Lord of Life returns to Wiley this coming Thursday, March 6th. On the first Thursday of each month, Lord Of Life presents a program, Songs Of Joy and Scriptures, to the Wiley residents in Marlton. This month, our program is titled, "A Walk With Jesus."
We will also sing some Irish tunes in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. There will be some special entertainment with Cynthia and Tom Tait dancing a waltz to Andrea Bocelli's version of "I Can't Help Falling In Love."
Since this is the flu season, we will let our team know if we must change our plans for a visit depending on the status at Wiley.
If you would like to participate by either singing, playing an instrument, doing a scripture reading, handing out song sheets, or just being there to greet the residents, please contact Janell Reich or Sue Dreisbach. You do not have to commit to every month. Please consider joining us to bring joy to Wiley!
Let Janell know if you are planning to be with us. We may be restricted as to the number of visitors that are permitted. Also, the use of masks will depend on their status. They may or may not be needed.
Is realizing you’re wrong really so bad? With his trademark warmth and humor, psychologist Adam Grant’s #1 New York Times bestseller, Think Again, investigates how we can embrace not knowing, and how rethinking and unlearning can increase curiosity, intelligence, and mental flexibility. Using extreme debate scenarios, rigorous evidence, and revolutionary ideas, Grant’s bold exploration of keeping an open mind is sure to make you reevaluate your own thought process.
(The book is 307 pages in length, and there are 4 copies in the library.)
Did you know that….
According to the National Kidney Foundation, about 1 in 7 adults in the United States have chronic kidney disease, and 90% of these adults do not even know they have it.
This month’s Focus on Health highlights what healthy kidneys do, recognizes problems kidney disease can cause, pinpoints risk factors and symptoms, and identifies how to stay healthy. Stop by the Focus on Health Table in Fellowship Hall to learn more. The Stepping-Stones to Health Committee encourages you to pick up our free monthly handouts and/or speak to one of our members, including Joan Molnar, Lu Hourihan, Janell Reich, Heather Cosper, Barbara Ma, or Cynthia Tait. Also, please share with anyone on our Committee health topics you are interested in.
Continuing Your Contributions: | |
Your continuing financial support is essential to maintain the Ministries of Lord Of Life. Offerings are being collected at all church services. If you are still not attending services at our church building, your contribution can be mailed to the church (1 Winchester Court, Tabernacle, NJ 08088). Both Simply Giving and Tithe.ly remain in place for all to use.
Something new has been added to make it easier for you to contribute to Lord of Life using your cell phone! Simply scan the QR code below with your cell phone, and you will be able to make a donation using Tithe.ly.
| |
(More information about these electronic ways to contribute can be found on the church's website. The link is below.)
